How To Choose Your Burlington Realtor

Choices, choices, life is full of choices!  Accordingly the same thing applies when we are looking to buy or sell a home.  We shop around for the best person to represent us in making that substantial financial decision, or at least we should.

Over the past ten years or so I have seen a dramatic shift in the approach that clients and Realtors take to Real Estate. From a time when there was more reliance on face to face interaction, we have evolved to a stay at home and shop the internet mentality. While this makes life a lot easier, it can have it’s downside.

The internet is a tool that when used properly is quite valuable, but it does have it’s limitations. Realtor.ca is a tool that is available to the public and is used extensively. What one should understand though is that it was created by Realtors primarily for their use as a sales and marketing tool and as such the information contained therein must be filtered somewhat. Issues such as house location, neighbourhood issues, was the property used as a grow–op, does the owner really own the property, do they have the financial resources to close the deal, are all behind the scenes.  Your Realtor deals with all this and more.

So what do you look for in a Realtor? A relationship with your Realtor is quite simply one that is based on trust:

  • Trust that your Realtor has your best interests at heart and they will work extremely hard to achieve the best possible result for you, either buying or selling.
  • Trust in knowing they have a thorough knowledge of the housing market.
  • Trust that they will have the expertise in negotiating the best possible deal for you.
  • Trust that they will protect you both financially and legally.

Real Estate transactions can be complex and more often than not should be handled with professional involvement. Buying a car these days can have pitfalls; just imagine what could happen with a bad real estate deal.

I am here to help. I have an extensive background in Real Estate and marketing in general and I have a proven track record of customer satisfaction. Before you make any decision regarding buying or selling please contact me at jbennett32@cogeco.ca or at 905-577-0220.  I will be glad to help.
